Call for applications for faculty recruitment for international programs

Positions: Professor / Associate Professor / Senior Instructor/ Instructor for the Development of Language Competences

By courses:

• Mathematics (higher mathematics) / Research methods
• Module of socio-political disciplines
• Philosophy
• History of Kazakhstan

Requirements:

Professor - a doctoral degree (preferably from international university) or an academic degree in the relevant sciences; research degree (desirable), work experience of at least 5 years (including research and teaching), work experience in international educational organizations or in international projects is preferable; must be  author of at least 7 research papers in publications according to the relevant sciences included in the list of publications recommended for publishing the research results and 2 research papers in an international peer-reviewed research journal with an  impact factor according to JCR or indexed in one of the Science databases of Web of Science Core Collection: Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Science Citation Index or Arts &  Humanities Citation Index in the or having in the Scopus database  a CiteScore percentile of at least 35. Project Investigator experience.

Associate Professor - a doctorate degree (preferably from a international university) or an academic degree in the relevant sciences; research degree (desirable), work experience of at least 3 years, including work experience in international educational organizations or in international projects (preferred); must be an author of at least 3 research papers in publications in the field included in the list of publications recommended for publishing the research results and 1 research paper in an international peer-reviewed research journal indexed with an impact factor according to JCR or in one of the Science databases Web of Science Core Collection: Citation Index Expanded, Social Science Citation Index or Arts & Humanities Citation Index or having in the Scopus database a CiteScore percentile indicator of at least 25. Participation in research projects.

Senior Instructor- Master’s degree in the relevant sciences or doctoral degree (preferably from an international university) or a research degree; work experience in educational organizations for at least 2 years, experience in international educational organizations or in international projects is preferable; Kazakhstani and international certificates in professional development. Publications are preferable.

Instructor for the development of language competencies (Kazakh/English) - a master’s degree in the relevant science, work experience in educational organizations for at least 2 years, experience in international projects/organizations is preferable; Kazakhstani and international certificates in professional development. At least C1 proficiency level in language teaching. *Preferably an international certificate/diploma giving the right to teach in English.

Language competency:

It is preferable to have a professional level of language competencies: state, Russian and English (a valid international certificate confirming English language proficiency - IELTS at least Band 5.5 or its equivalent. If you have a diploma confirming training in English a certificate is not required.

Professional competence and personal qualities:

• Interpersonal communication skills;
• Ability to work effectively in a team;
• Analytical skills;
• The ability to solve problems that arise in the implementation of plans for academic issues;
• Ability to work on your own initiative, in spite of tight deadlines;
• Ability to work with people from different cultures.

Computer skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience with programs designed for statistical processing/data analysis is preferable.

 Document submission requirements:

Submit an application for participation for the recruitment of the faculty for international programs and the following documents to the e-mail: hiring@ku.edu.kz and:

1. CV;
2. copies of diplomas of higher education, academic or research degree;
3. a list of research papers;
4. presentation of the course project for vacant positions of the faculty (in electronic form, no more than 4 slides).

The structure of the project presentation:

• Name and description of the course
• Purpose, objectives and results of teaching the course.
• Methods and tools of teaching the course.
• Reference list

The applicant has the right to provide additional information regarding his/her education, work experience, professional level (list of publications, recommendations from the management of the previous place of work) as well as documents confirming work experience and qualifications.

**In case of successful results, it is necessary to provide a complete list of documents including originals for verification of copies of documents.
