Kevin Fitzsimmons, Director of International Initiatives at the University of Arizona’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, visited Kozybayev University. He is a renowned aquaculture expert. With the assistance of Professor Fitzsimmons, the Water Resources Center was opened at Kozybayev University in partnership with the University of Arizona and China’s Northwest A&F University (NWAFU). At a meeting with the leadership of our university, many issues of cooperation in this area were discussed in detail.
"We are now moving to a new level of interaction with the University of Arizona - conducting large-scale scientific research. A trilateral agreement on studying water resources was concluded. It so happened that the policy of our country coincides with the goals and objectives that universities set for themselves within the framework of this project’s implementation. The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan is also interested in facilitating its implementation. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and local executive figures also support this project. A lot of work has been done to unite the country’s three regions and their universities into a consortium: North Kazakhstan region, Akmola and Kostanay regions, for the implementation of joint projects in the field of agriculture,” noted the Chairman of the Executive Board – Rector of Kozybayev University, Yerbol Issakayev.
