The military department of the university hosted a seminar "The impact of military operations in Afghanistan on modern combined arms combat, lessons and conclusions." It is organized within the framework of bilateral cooperation in the field of educational and scientific activities between Kozybayev University and the Academy of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The seminar was attended by our students, cadets of the Academy and the teaching staff of two higher educational institutions. The guest of honor was P.P. Zwinger, a veteran of military operations in Afghanistan. He shared his memories and experiences with the students.
The event took place on the eve of the Day of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. This is a holiday for combat veterans and a day of remembrance and mourning for all fallen internationalist soldiers. The presentations were made by students of Kozybayev University. They analyzed the techniques and methods of conducting military operations in Afghanistan, the reasons for the outbreak of war and the role of Kazakhstan in it. More than 22,000 soldiers from Kazakhstan participated in those military operations. In general, such meetings foster the patriotic feelings of the younger generation and expand knowledge about the defenders of the Fatherland.
