Meeting of the Strategic Partners Council

Kozybayev University, together with its strategic partner – the University of Arizona, participated in the first meeting of the Strategic Partners Council at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was attended by representatives of higher education institutions from the country, branches of foreign universities, international organizations, and leading members of the academic and expert community.

The meeting served as a platform for discussing key priorities for strategic partnerships and international cooperation for the years 2025-2029, including the promotion of Kazakhstan's higher education system internationally under the initiative "Study in Kazakhstan." Participants exchanged views on the role of transnational education, improving university financing models, ensuring quality, and advancing joint educational programs.

Minister Sayasat Nurbek emphasized the importance of working with partners to strengthen Kazakhstan's position as an international educational hub. Phil Baty from Times Higher Education highlighted the need for active participation of Kazakhstani universities in global rankings and improving their indicators. The International "Bolashak" Program Center presented the "Study in Kazakhstan" platform, aimed at providing comprehensive support to international students and scholars.

The outcome of the meeting was the approval of the Council's plan for 2025 and the development of concrete proposals for enhancing the competitiveness of universities.
