Today, a significant event took place at our university, not only for the university but for the entire region. Memorandums were signed with employers for the employment of graduates from the "Serpin" program.
The program has been active in the North Kazakhstan region since 2014. During this time, 1,732 students have enrolled in Kozybayev University under this program. About 40% of graduates have been employed. The "Serpin" program aims to attract students from five labor-intensive regions—Almaty, Zhambyl, Turkestan, Kyzylorda, and Zhetysu—into labor-deficient areas.
To coordinate this work, a roadmap was approved in the region on October 24, 2024, and the regional project office "Serpin Qoldau" was established at Kozybayev University, bringing together all interested state bodies. The primary task is to provide individual support to each student and graduate. A separate profile will be created for each, considering academic performance, competencies, and personal qualities. Third-year students will be sent for dual training at enterprises and institutions, with full support provided until an individual employment contract is signed. Adaptation and cultural integration will also be provided for students coming from southern regions.
Another form of support from Kozybayev University is providing temporary accommodation in the university dormitories, given the surplus of available spaces.
Currently, 167 students are studying under this program at the university. This year, 65 students will graduate in technical, IT, agricultural, and pedagogical fields. The signing of memorandums with regional employers will help ensure that our students are confident in their employment prospects.
