A Holiday That Unites!

Nauryz is a celebration with a rich history and deep traditions — a symbol of spring renewal, peace, and harmony. Since ancient times, the Kazakh people have eagerly awaited Nauryz, as it marks not only the arrival of spring but also the beginning of a new life and abundance. Bright, friendly, hearty, and creative — this is how Nauryz Meiramy was celebrated at Kozybayev University. Even the cloudy weather and light rain couldn’t spoil the joyful atmosphere of the celebration held in the main square of the campus.

Guests were welcomed by traditionally decorated yurts, music, and tables full of treats freely offered to everyone. More than 40 kilograms of baursaks and 100 liters of fragrant nauryz-kozhe were prepared. Seated in places of honor were labor veterans and honorary professors of various departments. Chairman of the Board – Rector Yerbol Isakayev addressed the guests with the following words: -This holiday symbolizes renewal — renewal in everything: in nature, in consciousness, in our thoughts and aspirations. We had a wonderful week within the framework of Nauryznama: various events and competitions took place, we extended support to those in need, and provided hearty dastarkhans. On behalf of our entire university community, I sincerely congratulate everyone on the upcoming holiday! I wish every family well-being, prosperity, and success!

On this special day, we also honored our renowned student and athlete, Yerbol Khamitov, the first World Champion in the history of Kazakhstan. During the event, he was awarded a scholarship grant in recognition of his achievements. The festive spirit was further elevated by musical performances from our talented students. Traditional Kazakh ceremonies such as bata, shashu, and tusau kesu were also showcased. Faculty, staff, and students actively participated in national games like togyz kumalak and bes asyk. There were lively competitions in tug-of-war, power gymnastics, and arm wrestling to determine the strongest participants. It was loud, gambling, and full of fun!

Nauryz Meiramy at Kozybayev University once again demonstrated how united, creative, and vibrant our community is — and how deeply we value our traditions and the continuity of generations. May peace, harmony, and mutual support continue to flourish! May Nauryz bring happiness and prosperity to every home!
