Students Informed About the Legal Consequences of Bullying, Extortion, and Gambling

As part of the “Law and Order” ideology, a meeting was held at the university between students and officers of the North Kazakhstan Region Police Department to discuss issues related to the prevention of offenses among students.

The event was aimed at raising young people’s legal awareness, promoting compliance with safety rules, and preventing bullying and extortion.

Students were informed that actions such as threats, intimidation of others, and participation in gambling can lead to serious consequences. They were also advised on what measures should be taken if they encounter such situations.

“In modern society, phenomena such as bullying, gambling addiction, and extortion are quite common. Through social media, recruitment schemes are widely spread, promising high earnings. Human trafficking carries criminal liability of up to 15 years’ imprisonment. Analysis shows that such crimes are most often committed by organized criminal groups. Women and minors are usually the victims,” noted Ayakoz Baimenova, Major of Police and operational officer of the Unit for Combating Human Trafficking.

Students received useful legal information on pressing issues, including criminal offenses and the legal consequences of extortion.
