The Department of Biology hosts Olympic summer playgrounds
The Department of Biology actively interacts with students from schools in the city and the region. In addition to the traditional quest, Olympic summer playgrounds are also held.
Students of the lyceum school LORD @lyceum.lord came to us today
The students of this school are always interested and willing to participate in biological activities. Senior lecturer Kornilova A.A. @kornilovaanna1 is engaged in preparing students for Olympiads from the department.
Today, students were offered a mini-research paper on the topic «The effect of growth stimulants on pollen germination». First, Anna Alexandrovna discussed the role of pollen in the plant life of the Gymnosperms and Flowering plants in the form of a problem conversation. Then the students were offered flowers of various angiosperms, from which they had to obtain pollen and examine its shape and size with a microscope. At the final stage of the lesson, everyone put together an experiment in which pollen was placed in a 5% glucose solution and a growth stimulant, boric acid, was added.
Interesting excursions, hikes and exploring nature in its natural manifestation await the students ahead.
