On 04/01/2025, the university hosted an "Hour of Integrity" for students as part of the implementation of the "Zan men Tartin" narrative. The event was attended by Almat Mirzaliyev, First Deputy Head of the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for North Kazakhstan region. The students were told about the preventive measures taken at the university to combat corruption. As part of anti-corruption education, our university hosts events aimed at cultivating the principles of integrity, zero tolerance for corruption, and academic integrity. Our university is the flagship of the formation of an anti-corruption worldview among North Kazakhstan youth.
On March 27 of this year, a training seminar on anti-corruption issues was organized and held at our University. A representative of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Corruption (Anti-Corruption Service) for North Kazakhstan region, E.S. Aubakirova, an officer for the Department of Internal Affairs of the DAPK for North Kazakhstan region, was invited as a speaker.
The participants actively discussed the measures being taken to improve anti-corruption legislation. At the end of the meetings, the participants agreed that promoting the principle of "Law and order" in the country is a common goal that is important for maintaining public order and protecting the rights of law-abiding citizens.
On February 27, 2025, an exciting quest game titled "AntiParaCraft" on anti-corruption themes took place within the university. Participants completed tasks at each station: solving situational cases and puzzles, answering quiz questions, guessing the items in the "Black Box," identifying fragments of films about corruption, and presenting their projects and podcasts on anti-corruption topics. As a result, the winning team was the MF team, second place went to IYaL, and third place to FIEP. Other participants in the game received certificates of participation.
On February 14, 2025, the Project Office "Sanaly Urpaq" organized a training seminar titled "Volunteer Projects – Reality and Prospects," in accordance with the joint Action Plan on anti-corruption issues by the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Anti-Corruption Service) for the North Kazakhstan region and the Non-Profit Joint Stock Company "M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University."
On January 20, 2025, in the presence of Executive Secretary of the "Bolashak" party branch "AMANAT" Alexander Viktorovich Zel, as well as the Student Ombudsman Karima Zhunusova and representative of the Youth Affairs Committee Dilnaz Seyilbek, the "Boxes of Trust" were opened in all the university's academic buildings and dormitories. After the boxes were opened, no appeals were found inside. The boxes were then resealed.
On December 6, 2024, a Brain Ring on the topic: "Anti-Corruption Worldview and Academic Integrity" was held at the University, gathering students from 5 colleges and Petropavlovsk University.
The game consisted of 4 rounds: "Question–Answer," "Associative Row," "Puzzles," and "Anti-Corruption Music Lover." The event was attended by representatives of the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the SKO, headed by Acting Director Aidos Junisov.
1st place was taken by the team "Adal Akyl" from M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University.
2nd place went to the team "Qorgausy" from the Higher North Kazakhstan Professional-Pedagogical College.
3rd place was awarded to the team "Position" from the NGO "College of North Kazakhstan University."
On December 3, 2024, the Department of the "Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan" and the Project Office "Sanaly Urpaq" of M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University held a focus group discussion on the topic "The Impact of Corruption on Societal Development" with members of the student scientific society of the Department of the APK. Students were given the opportunity to formulate collective opinions and make specific suggestions for combating corruption.
On November 28, 2024, a "TEDx"-style meeting took place at the coworking center on the topic "Anti-Corruption Worldview of Youth."
The speaker at the discussion platform was Salimhan Sabitov – Head of the Public Relations and Media Department of KSU "Qogamdyk Kelesim." Students had the opportunity to ask questions of interest and received comprehensive answers not only on anti-corruption topics but also on how to launch their own startup, where to get project funding, and much more.
On November 27, 2024, the Non-Profit Joint Stock Company "S. Seifullin Agro-Technical Research Institute" in Astana held a forum on the topic: "The Future in the Eyes of Youth," dedicated to the International Anti-Corruption Day, with the participation of student activists of the Project Office "Sanaly Urpaq" Eralkhan Ayulym Auelkhanyzy and Dinara Aldabergenkyzy.
On October 22, 2024, the voluntary student clubs forum “Sanaly Urpaq” was held at the premises of North Kazakhstan University named after Manash Kozybayev.
Five student clubs from colleges and one university club from the city of Petropavlovsk participated in the event.
The main goal of the forum was to foster an anti-corruption culture among students.
The event consisted of three stages: club introduction, a social video on the topic “We are against corruption,” and an interactive quiz.
Based on the results, the jury selected the best projects. First place was awarded to students of North Kazakhstan University named after Manash Kozybayev; second place went to the club of the Higher College named after Magzhan Zhumabayev; and third place was taken by students of the Higher North Kazakhstan Vocational and Pedagogical College. All other participants received letters of appreciation.
From September 30 to October 14, 2024, the League of Academic Integrity held a large-scale student media competition on academic honesty. Students from eight universities—members of the League—took part: the Agency of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aktobe Regional University named after K. Zhubanov, Almaty Management University, Kazakh-British Technical University, North Kazakhstan University named after M. Kozybayev, SDU University, University of International Business, and South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov. A total of 46 works—articles, videos, podcasts, infographics, and posters—were submitted for evaluation. Students from the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Engineering and Digital Technologies were awarded personalized certificates for active participation.
From June 10 to 14, 2024, compliance officer Ajar Serikovna Balakhmetova completed training at the Summer Anti-Corruption School for university faculty and compliance officers in the Republic of Kazakhstan, titled “Culture of Integrity in Higher Education,” held at the Bayanaul State National Nature Park, Family Recreation House “Zhan.”
The seminar featured speakers such as M.A. Kargabay, Head of the Department for the Formation of Anti-Corruption Culture of the Prevention Service of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan; A.D. Mukushev, National Coordinator of UNODC programs in Kazakhstan; G.K. Isenova, Director of the Extension Center at the NAO “Toraighyrov University,” ISO 37001 implementer and auditor; A. Muratova, certified trainer in emotional intelligence development and professional coach; V.V. Khan, Associate Professor at the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, PhD in Law; and A. Adibai, expert in anti-corruption compliance.

Upon completion, participants presented their projects on the formation of anti-corruption culture and received certificates.
Additionally, the host organized excursions to sacred sites (Konyr-Auliye Cave, Kempir-Tas Rock, Alder Grove) and a hike to Mount Akbet.
The university’s compliance officers I.M. Dzhemaledinova and A.S. Balakhmetova attended a training seminar titled “School of Anti-Corruption Compliance.” This type of seminar was held in Petropavlovsk for the first time. Experts from the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, public organizations, and others participated.
Our university was one of the first in the country to introduce the position of anti-corruption compliance officer within its staff. Systematic work is carried out to prevent violations of current legislation, including anti-corruption laws, internal regulations, and codes of conduct; to build an environment of integrity within the corporate sector; and to manage risks, i.e., compliance control.
